iBook-User Reports:  Apple Japan Announces - iBook Pre-Ordering Apple Japan officially announced the iBook in Japan Tuesday at the World PC Expo 99. The iBook is now available for pre-ordering in Japan like it has been in the United States where it racked up over 140,000 pre-orders in just about 4 weeks. iBook pricing will be about 198,000 yen which is about $1,800 U.S. dollars. Note: Apple Japan's pricing on the iBook reflects the exchange rate of about a month ago which was 120 yen to the Dollar. Currently the exchange rate which fluctuates daily is something like 109 yen to the Dollar. Japanese deliveries are scheduled to start in the beginning of October. The Airport card and base will be released to Japanese buyers in December. Yuji Tai of Japan Apple Watch who is running reports on, WORLD PC EXPO 99 in Tokyo reports that there is a difference between the US iBook and the Japanese iBook?
